We will potentially use this information to send you news and information about Michael Weisel
and our campaign for North Carolina State Treasurer. When you join up online, we may ask you
to give us contact information and geographic information. We may use this information to send
you material about the campaign, to help match your interests to campaign activities, and for

When you contribute money online:
North Carolina law requires political committees to report the name, address, job title or
profession, and the name of the employer or the employer's specific field for individuals
contributing in excess of $50 in an election cycle. An individual or political action committee
may contribute a maximum of $4,000 per election to a candidate's campaign committee. Political
committees are prohibited from soliciting or accepting contributions from lobbyists. The primary
and general elections are separate elections - both with $4,000 limits; however, the general
election cycle begins the day after the primary election is held and the committee may not accept
general election contributions until that time.
We may use information provided when you contribute online via our website and contribute by mail
to contact you for other purposes or to solicit you for additional contributions.
The Committee does use postal mailing lists it acquires from other organizations. If your name
appears on one of these lists, you may receive non-electronic mailings from us.

How we protect your information:
Our web site has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse, or alteration
of the information under our control. Our server is located in a locked, secure environment.
When you contribute online, we use a secure server and SSL to protect your credit card number
and other personal information during the transmission. SSL is short for Secure Sockets Layer,
a protocol developed by Netscape for secure transmission of private information over the Internet.
SSL works by using a private key to encrypt data that are transmitted over the SSL connection.
Both Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer browsers support SSL, and web sites use SSL when users
transmit confidential information such as credit card numbers. Web pages that require an SSL
connection start with https: instead of http. SSL uses 128-bit encryption within the United States.
For more information on SSL, please visit the Netscape web site:
